These are people that are special to me... whether I have known them personally or if they have touched my life in some way.

GEORGE CARLIN - Comedian, actor and writer died Sunday, June 22, 2008 of heart failure. He was 71.
He went into the hospital on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain, and died at 5:55 p.m. PT. He was born May 12, 1937, in the Bronx, New York.
George Carlin was one of my favorite performers. He could have me laughing out loud even when I was home alone listening to his routines. If I had to pick two of my favorites, it would have to be his views on "stuff" and on grocery shopping.

CHRISTINE ANN HASELTINE Born June 11, 1949 - Murdered January 18, 2008
Chris was my best friend from childhood. By our teens we went our separate ways, but the childhood bond still remained. Chris was found strangled to death and with head trauma in her Cicero IL apartment. The offender(s) are still at large.
Left to mourn is her brother Richard Jr (Tamara) and her sister Karen; Chris was the daughter of Richard Sr. and the late Anna. Adoring aunt of Richard III and Samantha Haseltine and Kathryn and Phillip Brown.
UPDATE: 7/2/2008 Lonzo Travis, 39, of Chicago has been charged with murder, home invasion and residential burglary in connection with Chris' death. I will update as the trial progresses.
