Capt. William Sikora - Chicago Fire Department
Born April 18, 1890 - Died June 16, 1925

Died in the line of duty, 64 feet underground, in a caisson on the excavation for the A.B. Dick Company building at 714 W. Jackson Blvd, Capt. Sikora rescued two others from death from sewer gas, but lost his own life.

John Downs - Pipeman, Chicago Fire Department

Born August 15, 1871 - Died November 22, 1895

Five Firemen lost in “Fire-Proof” building located at 215-217 Van Buren St. and 276-278 Franklin St. Firefighter Downs was killed when the six-story building collapsed.

John Downs, born in Parish Ballingarry, Co. Limerick, Ireland died, aged 55 yrs, husband of Kate, nee Connors, father of Mary, William, John, Thomas, Kate, Frank and Walter Downs.

  Thomas Dillon - Truckman, Chicago Fire Department

Born in County Cork Ireland January 6, 1870 - Died December 16, 1898 in the line of duty.

Thomas Dillon died of trauma sustained at a fire on December 15, 1898. Incident attributes include explosions, structure collapse and fire.
